One Year Deal For Ibenfeldt

Southend announced the signing of a hat trick of players today with Mads Ibenfeldt the first confirmed on a busy Monday to start the week.

Reports over the weekend were saying that Danish trialist Ibenfeldt had been offered a contract, which we now know that he was with him signing on for a year with the 29 year old possibly getting a second if he impresses.

Brown wanted to see what he could do against QPR and Ipswich Town, Premier League and Championship sides, and he passed the test with flying colours. The Southend manager said in his interview with the official website that his experience is important with him having all the qualities he wanted.

'He's the sort of player we need. He's big and physical at the back and is an excellent defender who will add to the competition for places we've got here.

'His performances against QPR and Ipswich Town were very impressive. He has plenty of experience. I'm delighted to have him here with us next season.'

You wait a while for a signing and like buses three come along at once! Ibenfeldt will be really important at the back I feel who can easily play above League 2 level.
