Trialist Offered Southend Deal

Mads Ibenfeldt has reportedly impressed Phil Brown enough during his trial spell with us to be offered a contract by Southend, with the Echo also reporting that a loan signing we had last season is also being targeted again.

Brown wouldn't reveal what trialist had been offered a contract.

What he did confirm though was that a central defender trialist has been offered a deal, which can only be one of Ibenfeldt or Ben Richards-Everton with it more likely to be Ibenfeldt at this stage.

Cian Bolger, who played one game for us on loan last season before being injured, wasn't a player that Brown would comment on but reports have steadily grown this week that Bolton Wanderers 22 year old defender could soon be returning to Roots Hall to help ease our defender shortage.
