Teenage Striker Arrives?

Teenage Striker Arrives?

Southend haven't officially announced a deal or spoken about it, unless I've missed something, but it's being reported that teenage striker Isaac Layne has signed for us from Billericay Town.

The official website of Billericay has said that he did enough in our three-one win at New Lodge a couple of weeks ago when we met in a pre season friendly to convince Phil Brown into giving the 19 year old a contract at Roots Hall with his development continuing in the development squad this season.

No details of a fee or length of deal were mentioned though.

Charlton Athletic had previous taken the striker on trial this summer with it being us that have snapped him up, which if we have the club will officially announce this later today I'd expect.
