Trialists Given Another Chance

Phil Brown is still looking to add to his defensive options ahead of the League 2 season so will continue to look at some players in a trail capacity with a trio of defenders expected to get another game, or two, to impress him.

Right back Dan Leadbitter and central defender Mads Ibenfeldt and Ben Richards-Everton all played and 'produced solid performances' in the nil-nil draw at Concord Rangers on Wednesday night but Brown has said in his interview with the Echo that he wants them to be given another game or two against sterner opposition.

He means no disrespect to Concord but knows that Queens Park Rangers and Ipswich Town will provide much tougher opposition and show him more what the defenders are capable of them with a decision then made on their futures.

Another behind closed doors friendly took place against Charlton Athletic on Saturday, we we're beaten by a strong side named by the Championship side one-nil, with Brown expected to give them more minutes in that one too but it doesn't appear that he did.
