'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Quartet Given Another Chance

No offence to Great Wakering Rovers but it was always going to be difficult to judge our trialists from that game and Phil Brown has basically said as much in his interview with the Echo today.

As such they'll get another chance, at least.

'The trialists can only beat what's in front of them and that's exactly what they did at Wakering but we need to have more of a look at them really.'

Craig Fagan and Roman-Michael Percil both got on the scoresheet in our five-nil win at Burroughs Park with Brown, who was Fagan's manager at Hull City of course, knowing that the striker showed signs that he's played higher and also liked the 'pace, tenacity and an attitude' showed by former Tottenham Hotspur winger Percil.

Also looked at were right back Jordan Wilson, who had been playing in Canada, and central defender Nabir Aslam, who was the defender from Denmark (at least based in Denmark) that we knew of, he was previously with Danish side AC Horsens.

Aslam looks the more likely of the two to have a chance of a future it seems at the moment but Brown was pleased that both did what was asked of them and they'll get more chances, in training at least if they want them.

'We asked Nabil to pass the ball which he did but he wasn't tested defensively and nor was Jordan.

'We will have a look at them both again in training and maybe at Billericay as well tomorrow night.

'Nabir has played in the Danish Premier League so he could certainly be an interesting option for us.'

Brown does know that all will have to step it up though and if they hand around they'll get more of a chance as the opposition faced steps up in quality, it'll then be down to them to prove that they can likewise to have a chance of earning a contract with us.

Brown does feel one or two new signings should be confirmed in the next week or so.
