The Preview: Southend v Burton Albion

When it comes to the play offs Southend aren't going to have an easy game no matter who we end up facing but victory over Burton Albion at Roots Hall on Saturday would not only lay down a marker but could also influence who our Semi Final opponents are.

Jacob Murphy could miss out as we look to finish the season ahead of Burton but him aside it's all looking good for Phil Brown on the whole as we look to end the season with a win, at least unbeaten, to go into the League 2 play offs with our form continuing.

Burton are going to be missing Adam McGurk and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff but the pair of them could return for the play offs but Damien McCrory and Jimmy Phillips aren't going to be so fortune.

Brown knows we're going into the play offs in form and he wants to continue this against Burton, as we did against Fleetwood Town last weekend when we held them to a draw. He wants us to show Burton that should we meet in the play offs they'll know 'if we're playing you in the play-offs, this is what we're about'.

If we make it into League 1 regardless of this result that's the most important thing but form builds momentum and we want to keep this going as we have it at the moment.
