'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Youngsters Given Chance To Progress

Southend have offered professional contracts to Jack Bridge, Jason Williams and Josh Banton.

Phil Brown has been impressed with all three, as well as Kane Farrell who had been offered a development contract for a third year, and as such has told the official website in his interview that he expects to see all four of Ricky Duncan's U18 regulars around the first team at Roots Hall next season.

'I'm delighted to be able to offer these young lads professional deals because they've worked extremely hard and have impressed not only me, but all the coaching team here at the club.

'All four of the lads have done very well for Ricky Duncan's under-18's, and spent time in the development squad this year which has aided their progress.

'They've worked hard to be offered these deals but they must continue that now, and I'm sure they will do just that.'

Williams has already made his Southend debut this season with both Bridge and Banton involved in the first team so it will be interesting to see if we could see all three involved in a game from front to back next season, Williams is a forward, Bridge a midfielder and Banton a defender.

They'll all get quite a reception at Roots Hall this weekend when presented to the crowd.
