The Report: Southend 0 Bury 0
We're still clinging onto the final League 2 play off spot but with a winless run extended to 12 games, after Southend drew another blank, in the nil-nil draw with Bury at Roots Hall.
It wasn't a game that many will remember fondly as the drab affair didn't see many chances at either end with none of the goalkeepers, and three were on display throughout the 90 minutes, forced into a save.
Reice Charles-Cook came on at half time to replace Brian Jensen, who didn't have anything of note to do in the first half, and the young Bury goalkeeper should have at least been called into action early after coming on.
Just eight yards out Freddie Eastwood should've marked his first start since September with a goal but he fired over the bar with him paying the price for this with him taken off soon after, being replaced by Barry Corr.
Corr didn't do much better though.
The striker will now serve a suspension for a sending off due to an off the ball incident with Bury's Frederic Veseli.
John Egan's header late on could've won it for us, but like the other limited efforts on the day this wasn't on target as our struggles this year continue.
You've got to go back to the middle of January for our last League 2 win.
This isn't the kind of form of a club looking to get promoted. Automatic promotion hopes have long since ended, we're managing to cling onto seventh place but the chasing pack, and there's more than one now, closing in.
