'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Brown Seeking Injury Answers

Phil Brown is looking to get to the bottom with the ongoing injury problems for Luke O'Neil and Luke Prosser.

O'Neill's been sidelined for most of his loan from Burnley so far due to a thigh injury and Prosser's been troubled of late by a calf injury but Brown's told BBC Essex that scans will hopefully clear up what the problems are once and for all.

'The two Luke's are both going for scans. It's becoming slightly mysterious why both players are not out there.

'The physio knows there is something wrong and is trying to get it into me that there's something wrong and you can't play them.

'I think it's a balancing act. I hate recurrence of injuries. Once they're fit, they're fit and that's it. We'll get more information from the specialists.'

It was an impressive start to his Southend loan but if O'Neill isn't able to return shortly I'm not so sure what benefits there will be to keeping him on loan from Burnley and we could well see him sent back to the Championship side.

All being well though the scans can determine what the issues are and these can be quickly overcome. On the other hand they might show up something a little more serious but either way we need to know.
