The Preview: Plymouth Argyle v Southend
Southend enjoyed the week off from League 2 action last Saturday when the FA Cup took centre stage and Millwall felt the full brunt of the full brunt of our might. It's back to League 2 though on Saturday afternoon when we travel to Plymouth Argyle.
Banton, who was on loan with Plymouth last season, joined them permanently this week and will go straight into the side but they've lost Lavery, who had been in good goalscoring form, as Sheffield Wednesday have recalled him. Obadeyi's loan's also over and he's back with Bury.
How are things looking for Southend? Pretty good really as White was a doubt after going off against Millwall but his shoulder's going to be fine. Woodrow, Hurst and Phillips were left out of the side that beat Millwall and could be involved. Thompson's first appearances as a permanent Southend player, after his signing from Watford, should take place in Devon.
It was always a big deal when Southend played Plymouth previously due to Sturrock being the manager, it's very much Brown's side now though and it'll be just 'another game', but a game we'll be wanting to win and most will expect Southend to win at Home Park.
Plymouth will give us a game but if we perform like we did against Millwall then we'll win, even if it's not four-one. That would be nice but a win is the main thing.
