'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Team News v Rochdale

Another Friday night game at Roots Hall happens tonight as Southend play for the last time before Christmas as Rochdale come to town.

I'd not be at all surprised to see Phil Brown make some changes after the disappointing defeat at Torquay last weekend.

This is made all the more likely as Mark Phillips, Adam Thompson, Ryan Leonard and Freddy Eastwood are all in the frame to return.

A luxury of a near on fully fit squad is complete with Cauley Woodrow also another option to return as he's now served his three-match suspension following his sending off against Portsmouth recently.

Ahead of this meeting tonight Brown has reflected on the last meeting we had with Dale, this was in April last season when they beat us 4-2 and he doesn't want a repeat of that.

He told BBC Essex: 'They possibly caught us at the right time - we were just coming off the back of Wembley, coming down from 33,000 travelling Southend fans to maybe 250 at Spotland.

'I've now had a chance to stamp my own identity, culture and fingerprints on the football club.

'I think 14 or 15 players left the club, we replaced them with seven or eight and some loan signings so we're getting somewhere nearer to a Phil Brown team.'

This site is looking for an editor (at least contributor), so if a fan can offer us a genuine opinion from someone that supports them we would love to share it with the masses!
