'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Defender Definitely Keen To Stay

When you go to a club on loan it's not just the performances on the pitch that make it successful it's actually settling in.

This is something that Rob Kiernan has done on both counts, his showings have helped us climb back up the table into a play off position and he's admitted that he's settled in a treat.

He told the Echo: 'I've settled in really well, the spirit here is up there with the best I've known at any club and I would definitely like to stay for longer.'

Phil Brown was very keen to bring him in and he appreciates his efforts to do so and wants to "repay this". To be fair to him he's doing this so far isn't he.

Playing first team football is also wanted, which he's doing here and knows it's the only way to keep developing.

He added: 'I'm not sure if the decision will be out of my hands or not but I just want to be playing games and I`m grateful to the manager for getting that here.

'He did a lot to bring me in what with the embargo there is here and I really appreciate that so I want to repay him.

'I also want to keep on playing first team football to help me improve.

'I don't want to be sat in the stands or playing in the reserves because this is what's best for me and I feel a part of things here now too.'

The defender is still on loan with us until January, so we've got plenty of time to enjoy his performances and for him to play the football that he wants.

However, should the chance arise I can't see there being any problem with his loan being extended as you'd think it's a move that would benefit all parties concerned, so long as it's an affordable one for us of course....
