'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We're Going There Brimming With Confidence

Southend are off to St James Park this weekend to take on an Exeter side that are having a slight indifferent run of form, they certainly struggle at home though.

Will this help us secure the points?

Phil Brown knows that he takes his side to Devon, which is a long old journey, in confidence and hopes we can come back with something.

Confidence shouldn't be an issue at all and if we play like we can we're capable of a point at least. He told BBC Essex: 'It's an old saying but we don't want to make the long journey back without anything in the bag.

'We're going there brimming with confidence and hopefully get something from the game.

'When we play to our maximum, with units playing as they have doe in the last couple of games, with the midfield working tirelessly to protect the back four and to create as well, the front three have the licence to score goals.

'I think we've got the flair, ability and work rate to make chances.'

Mark Phillips (suspension) will return for us but Conor Clifford will sit out for the same reason but we can call upon Freddy Eastwood (knee) after injury but Adam Thompson is away with the Northern Ireland U21 side.

Let us at Vital Southend know what way you think this will go with a vote in the poll to your right, I'm going to sit on the fence slightly and say it'll be a draw...
