Lund And Reeves Interest Confirmed

Lund And Reeves Interest Confirmed

It's been confirmed that Phil Brown has his eyes on the re-signing of two players that enjoyed loan spell with Southend last season.

Southend brought in Matthew Lund from Stoke and Ben Reeves (pictured) from Southampton on loan spells last season, both have now been released by their Premier League clubs.

Phil Brown, as he told The Echo, has admitted he hopes to bring both to Roots Hall. He said: 'I was impressed with Matthew's attitude and mentality in the end when he was with us last season.

'Ben will also be a great asset to somebody if he can stay on the field of play for 30 or 40 games which he's not used to doing. And if that was with Southend, then fantastic.'

The midfielders would make great additions to The Shrimpers squad if they can be secured, having played in the Premier League last season Reeves could well prove to be the harder one to convince to drop down to League Two permanently though?

Always liked Ben and at one time it looked possible he would make it with us. If you get him he could do well for you.
