Season Ends With Disappointment For Southend

Southend 0-1 Morecambe
27th April 2013
15:00
Roots Hall

Southend, who continued to end the season with a whimper, slumped to another defeat on Saturday when they lost at Roots Hall against Morecambe.

Sean Clohessy, making a club record 59th appearance of the season, found himself robbed by Andrew Fleming (34) who went onto score. The Southend defender had been attempting to let the ball run out of play.

Ryan Cresswell put a header over and Gavin Tomlin had one effort saved by Barry Roche as Morecambe held on to run out 1-0 winners.

Defeat for Southend meant that only one win was managed in the final 10 matches of the League Two season.
