Midfielder Welcome Back, If Possible?

Tamika Mkandawire ended his latest loan spell with Southend in midweek, and signed off by playing his part in the victory over Aldershot.

Phil Brown, as he told The Echo, is open to the midfielder returning next season if it's possible: 'Tam has been a pleasure and a delight to work with and I'd certainly welcome the opportunity to work with him again if that was possible.

'From what I've said I actually think centre-back and not central midfield is his best position and he's done well when he`s played there.

'Some people will say he's not big enough to be a defender but it's all about how you read the game and Tam is excellent at that.'

Mkandawire has been a good loan signing for Southend twice this season and doesn't appear to have a future with Millwall, however the 29-year-old might be out of The Shrimpers financial bracket?
