Southend Held By Struggling Torquay

Southend 1-1 Torquay
16th March 2013

Roots Hall

Southend's hopes of forcing themselves into the League Two play offs took a turn for the worse when struggling Torquay held them at Roots Hall on Saturday.

Goals haven't been easy to come across this season but Freddy Eastwood (9) scored his first since November to give Southend an early lead.

Torquay came back into the game, with The Shrimpers unable to add a second, and drew themselves level in first-half injury time when Joss Labadie (45+2) scored from close range.

A winning goal from Southend looked more likely to come in the second half but another goal couldn't come so the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
