Southend Get Play Off Bid Back On Track

Wycombe 1-2 Southend
23rd February 2013

Adams Park

Southend followed up a midweek win to secure a place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final with a late win at Wycombe on Saturday to revive their play off bid.

Wycombe could, and maybe should, have already been ahead before Dean Morgan (7) actually did manage this for the hosts.

Barry Corr (53) didn't waste much time to bring Southend level shortly after the break with the bar denying them another, and The Shrimpers also going close a couple more times before a solo goal from Britt Assombalonga (85) handed the visitors a crucial 2-1 win.
