A late minute goal secured Southend a place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final on Tuesday night, a draw securing The Shrimpers an aggregate win over Leyton Orient.

Southend had taken a 1-0 lead into this second leg but Leyton Orient were soon back on level terms when Shaun Batt (8) put the visitors ahead early on.

Having been brought on in the first half Barry Corr (61) levelled for Southend just after the hour to give The Shrimpers a 2-1 aggregate lead.

With time running out Dave Mooney (72) headed home to put Orient ahead again, leaving the game destined for a penalty shootout with the game tied 2-2 on aggregate.

Southend weren't having that though and a last minute strike from on-loan Southampton man Ben Reeves (90) saw Southend draw 2-2 on the night at Roots Hall, making the Final to face Crewe with a 3-2 aggregate win.
