Bilel Mohsni To See Out The Season

It's been confirmed that Bilel Mohsni will see out the remainder of his contract with Southend.

Following several trial periods with other clubs the 25-year-old eventually joined Ipswich on a three-month loan last year, however the Championship side didn't extend this in January and that saw him left out in the cold...until Saturday.

Paul Sturrock opted to recall him, and he got sent off after less than half an hour!

Sturrock, as he told the official website, has confirmed he'll be part of his plans until the end of the season: 'Bilel has come back to the club and he will remain with us for the rest of the season.

'He looked very good on Saturday up until he got the red card which he was a bit unfortunate with. Both he and their lad went in high, but Bilel was just a bit late. We won't be appealing the card because I've looked at it from four or five angles and it's hard to argue with it but he's in with us and is training and will remain with us.

'Once he has served his suspension he will be available for selection again.'

Mohsni has echoed The Shrimpers boss' sentiments and hopes to make amends for previous misdemeanours: 'I want to help Southend get promotion and hopefully a win at Wembley and really show fans what I can do.

'I know some fans are upset with what has happened and getting this red card hasn't helped. But hopefully I can do well in the games when I come back and help the team get some good results to help everyone like me again.'

Actions and now words are what are required!
