'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Sturrock Stands By His Decision

Bilel Mohsni came in from the cold at the weekend, most of this down to his own doing, however his Southend return lasted less than 30-minutes.

Paul Sturrock recalled the Frenchman for the first time since May, and stands by his decision to bring him back in: 'I don't regret bringing Bilel back in because it was the right thing to do with the players we have unavailable here at the moment.

'I don't think we can have any complaints about the red card but I don't think it was a malicious tackle at all.

'He just mistimed it and caught their player instead of the ball so I feel for him.'

A three-match suspension now awaits the fiery Frenchman, the red card being his fifth in his Shrimpers career.

Will Mohsni play for Southend again? Sturrock is leaving that one unanswered for the moment: 'I will talk to him about the situation on Monday but it's too early to say if he will ever play for us again and those questions shouldn't be asked at this stage.'
