Shrimpers Snap Up Southampton Youngster

Southend boosted their midfield ranks with the loan acquisition of Ben Reeves on transfer deadline day.

Southampton agreed to loan The Shrimpers the midfielder, who has played for his parent club on six occasions this season, for an initial month with this loan arrangement to be assessed at the end of that month before a decision on a possible extension is made.

With Premier League experience behind him, and a proven track record at a higher level than League Two, the 21-year-old should be a good arrival at Roots Hall as Southend look to force themselves back into the promotion picture having fallen off a bit recently.
