Better late than never for new arrival
Scott Donnelly is a face that is familiar to Southend manager Paul Sturrock, however he wasn't able to sign him over the summer as he wished.
The midfielder signed a short-term contract with Aldershot after being on trial with The Shrimpers during pre-season but after just six appearance for The Shots he's signed for Southend on loan until January.
Should Donnelly impress over the next month and a bit the 24-year-old could earn himself a permanent contract at Roots Hall.
