Sturrock: Great for Britt to get another

Britt Assombalonga is proving to be a smash hit with Southend during his loan spell from Watford.

The young striker scored another couple of goals in the 3-1 win over Dagenham that have brought him praise from Paul Sturrock, with them helping The Shrimpers to a third successive win: 'It was great for Britt to get another couple of goals and we're pleased with how well he's doing at the moment.

'He's young and works hard and his goals helped us to make it three wins a row.'

In spite of the win the Southend boss was disappointed with the second half showing from his side and would have expected more: 'We got sloppy and lazy at the start of the second half and Dagenham are a very athletic team who made it hard for us.'
